This is excellent! As someone who has, for years, watched my best friend’s mum continuously disregard her daughter’s feelings in order to satisfy her need to appear as ‘the perfect mother’ with the ‘perfect family’ to her local community, this article is a relief to read. I want to send it to my friend’s mum! (Unfortunately though I don’t think her self awareness is at the same level as yours is just yet).
